Last week the officers and myself got together to look at the future of our guildbank. With Fire Lands releasing in about a month, we will have new profession items such as expensive enchanting mats and other guild expenses that will require funding. We want to be the best Elm we can be with regards to raiding in 4.2. That will take planning, forethought, and resources. We can all help with this, especially the resources.
It takes a lot to run a raid. It takes even more to run a successful one. Going forward, in order to be considered for raiding we are going to require a weekly donation of one of these three things:
1) 2 flasks (originally 1 but markets change)
2) 2 Stacks of feast mats (highland guppy, fathom eel, lavascale catfish)
3) 200 gold.
This really isn't asking a lot. Especially considering we will be using the cauldron system, and your flasks will be provided for you. The gold, and the raid food will help to make sure that we always have both on hand for you, when you need it. I mean...when that awesome two handed weapon drops for you in Fire Lands, you will probably want an enchant for it. We want to be able to continue to enchant, gem, and provide for our raiders.
So going forward, you will need to make sure that you put your choice of donation into the guild bank before the start of your first raid that week (starting with raid reset on Tuesday).
Guild bank repairs were never something that was intended to be used by the entire guild 100% of the time to repair out of. They will be turned on for raiders during raid times. We don't believe in having our raiders pay for their repairs, however we can't afford to cover every 5 man repair cost...unless you guys want to start donating a mandatory 500 gold per week... ... hehe. My point is we need to be increasing our funds, and I don't believe that this should fall on one or two members.
As always - the food and the mats in the raiding tab are just for raiding. You should never take anything out of the tab unless you need it for the raid. Flasks - nope you don't need those unless your raid leader decides that its not worth using another cauldron. Food? Oh yes! Please - everyone should be using (and contributing) to our raid food. All I am asking is that you treat every item you take from the raiding time with respect. It took someone's time and energy to make that item, they are not to be horded - only take what you need.
I hope that this post was helpful and clear, if not please feel free to ask me any questions, or to bring to me any concerns. If we want to be the best guild we can be, we have to act like it. If we are lazy, so becomes our progress. If we don't take things seriously, then no one will take us seriously either. Especially Rag. And guys? We are trees. Rag already hates us...
